There’s a place for you…
Cayman HospiceCare depends on caring volunteers to provide support to our patients, their families and Hospice staff. Whether you are a retiree with a desire to improve your community, a student or employee hoping to fulfill service requirements, or just have a genuine desire to help others, there is a wide variety of opportunities at Cayman HospiceCare to meet your needs.
It’s about choices…
As a volunteer, you can help in ways that mean so much to others. Hold a hand…answer a phone…feed a pet…relieve a family member for a time…do some shopping…touch a heart…change a life (maybe your own!) No matter which volunteer path you choose, your help is significant.
We’ll give you the support you need…
As a volunteer you’ll receive a one-on-one interview before choosing which volunteer opportunity is most comfortable for you. After making your choice, you will receive the necessary training to enable you to handle your choice. Once you are a Hospice volunteer, our Volunteer Coordinator is on hand to provide you with support whenever you need it.
New friendships…making a difference…feeling a sense of accomplishment.
Hospice 101 (Orientation)
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around”
Leo Buscaglia’s words (above) sum up volunteering at Cayman HospiceCare (CHC) to a tee and we guarantee you that you will never regret joining us.
There are so many options provided at CHC were you can utilize your own skills/ backgrounds or perhaps you want to volunteer in a manner that is new to you. The options are endless and include providing assistance with patients (companionship, transportation and running errands) to administration and volunteering at our big fundraising events (Burns Supper, Flag Day, Big Bash, Health Fairs and educational programs).
Whatever your interests might be, we invite you to attend our Hospice 101 where you will meet our staff and volunteers, make new friends and learn about what we do and the services we provide.
Hospice 101 is held at our administrative offices every quarter. Our 2016 dates are: 28th January/ 28th April/ 28th July and 27th October (5:30pm-7pm)
At Cayman HospiceCare, we believe it is the right of every patient (and their family) to have comfort, support and quality of life. You can help us make this happen.
